and you guys just now getting into shooting.... whether its competition or protection i still think 9mm is a GREAT caliber! and unless you have a lot of active shooting training/practice you will stop an intruder faster with a 9mm than you will a .45 because its the same logics as in competition. and people dont realize how minute the REAL difference is in modern ballistics... while recoil actually is significantly different. in a real life "situation" you arent going to have all the time in the world to re line up your shot so the faster you can can get back on target the in a "vital" area the better chance you have of stopping an attack. 7-8 fast well placed 9mm shots in center mass will stop someone a lot faster the 2-3 .45 cal shots and i dont care who says otherwise... sorry for the rant but i see WAY too many "i carry a .45 because i wanna stop em in one shot" dumb asses
So you call the proponents of the 45 for stopping power dumbasses, but yet the only thing you present to argue that point are facts, mostly based on your inability to keep a 45 on target?
You really think that a 9mm is equal because 7-8 rounds center mass is acceptable? So much for carrying more rounds huh, you plan on needing 8 rounds per target. Leaves two targets per mag.
I'm leaving the "what-is-better" argument up int he air, but your logic is off man.
