Unfortunately, I can attest to the fact that a ROARING engine fire that looks like it'd melt the car likely won't stop your electronics from working - stereo, car lights, locks, etc. working fine with battery in the back and ECU pretty well isolated in the engine bay, even after 50% of the engine is melted onto the pavement and fire engine hoses are done with their work.
