The E9x changed pretty consistently over it's lifestyle. The 2007 and 2011 models of the E90 were quite noticeably different, so we'll see where the F30 goes in a couple of years.
Additionally, I am not a fan of the "lines" approach when you order now (Sport, Luxury, etc). I really hope that goes away and you can just choose from all of the options and build the car the way you want it ...
+1 THIS. I would take this route, I would like to get the later models of the new generation to make sure everything is working properly and see the other changes they made. In no rush to get one now.
