aluminum or polycarbonate hub rings

Hey I'm needing some hub rings, but I don't know if I should get Aluminum or the polycarbonate. So far the only things I've read was the polycarbonate could possibly melt, and the aluminum could possibly get stuck on the wheel, or the hub..... So does anyone have any experience with either, or could make a suggestion one which would be better??? And where would be a good place to get them?
