Wore it on a trip to Germany and came back with 5 of the large centre links scratched to buggery on the SS ashtray in the armrest of the old KLM sloggers that ply the routes between UK and Schipol. Jeweller wants 160 to repolish the strap

Don't believe everyone when they tell you that scratches add character. Its no different to someone keying your car. Big scratches on your shiny new watch will piss you off. However what's the point of having a watch and never wearing it....just stop micro-examining it and enjoy (he says having just re-examined those scratches....darn!)
