Nankang Sp2 tyres

Morning!

Does anyone have any experience of the above tyres? Looking at sticking some middle of the range 225/40/18 tyres on my GTi; I'm only planning to use them for a little while as I'm wanting to get some BBS CH's for it, early next year.

They're about 70-80 a tyre and most reviews I've read have said they were very good value for the price. Some say they're crap in the wet - but should any tyre in this day and age be 'crap' - unless the car's being pushed to it's boundaries at the wrong time? Surely, every tyre now sold mainstream will have followed strict industry regulations and gone through more testing than we can even imagine, before Mr Health and Safety will allow it to go on sale - especially over here in the UK?!?

Thanks.
