Yes there is usually a 2 step way to getting out of the vehicle when it is locked by a remote control. In my e46, to get out of the car when it was locked by the remote, you have to first push the unlock/lock button, then pull the door handles twice and wa-la. magic! im sure it is the same mechanism in the e90 too.
