I spoke to TurboEddie and his concern was that the IC would be to exposed to water, I told that I beleive that would not be a problem hence, its in the same location ast the OEM one anyway.
This may be a silly question, but why would exposing an IC to water be an issue? If anything, wouldn't this lead to moderate additional heat transfer (via evaporative cooling and air-to-water hx), considering that the IC is effectively just a heat sink?
TurboEddie knows his stuff, so what am I neglecting to take into consideration? Is he worried about corrosion, restricted airflow, leaks, or am I incorrect in my assumptions above?...or some combination thereof?
