Motul has stopped using zinc, and has a zinc replacement that is pretty nice. 300v is a great oil, (smells a little like pina colada) and has worked well for us in certain applications. We typically use the Amsoil 10w40 Synthetic premium because of it's high zinc content which has additional lubrication properties.
I'd be concerned about the zinc content in an older flat-tappet, high lift cam setup (such as an S14, S38, etc). Zinc reduces wear on the cams and tappets due to the extreme pressures. Probably less of a concern on our engines with mild cams. I've use Motul more than any other in pure street and full BMW C-Mod racecars, nothing but excellent results.
Amsoil is damn good stuff, too. I always recommend Motul and Amsoil as the top 2 available in the US.
