The waiver you need to get is tell that doctor your eyes are sensitive to light when you're driving or something along those lines. It will allow your car to go as low as 35% all the way around, including the front windshield but don't do that. It's fairly easy to do if you want to take that step.
Me? No I haven't done it. I just know the way around the tint law and passing off knowledge. My car is dark blue so it doesn't make the tint look too dark. It's the lighter cars where the tint is noticeable.

I've gotten 1 tint ticket in my old silver car and not one since. Most cops in the area can tell and most of them don't care as long as you're not doing anything stupid.

If I get a few more tint tickets, then yes, I will probably go this route when I see my eye doctor.
