It's about time for new tires and I want to get rid of run flats. What do you guys suggest? What kind of tires should I get? Looking for something in between decent and the best. Thanks

Alright so this today I went to go get Michelin tires installed but the shop I was at said BMW recommends run flats so they refused to put on non-run flats because of safety issues. What should I do?
The guy also said that the car won't perform properly because it "needs" run flats to get that good drive bmw has..?
