It depends, I remember when i was loking for a headlight replacement the the housing and the "guts" were separate and looked a little tricky to install. But youd need to open the actually housing up and take a look and see what broke, or maybe the servo arm just poped out of it socket and could be pushed back in. I doubt the dealer removed the bumper to look at the headlight.

MAybe have your friend confirm if the actual headlight housing is broken inside or maybe youre lucky and its just the servo arm.
