Being in park only holds a car in place if both tires have traction. Odds are in an accident one of the tires will skid/slide anyway. So it will give before the trans will. I doubt there is any damage, also parking brake only effects rear wheels. So if the car is moved by an outside force the same would have still happened inside the trans...
Wat... A tow truck normally grabs onto the drive wheels as those are the ones that lock with the transmission when in park. If the car is parked in a way where the drive wheels aren't accessible they have little dollies they put under them. Any movement in park can cause damage to to the transmission.
