Next step in the teardown is to remove the ribbon cables.

While we've already seen one type of ribbon cable in here, that pinkish-striped FFC, there's another type of flexible ribbon in here as well. It's has no conductors in it. It's purpose is to protect the FFCs from the friction of rubbing against themselves and the plastic housing of the slip ring.
