The car computer says "service time". Your key applied to the BMW key reader gives you a whole page of what that service entails in detail i.e. oil and filter change, micro filter change, spark plug change etc. plus "service car control one" (it is a direct translation from Swedish "service fordonskontroll ett") which is nothing but a 24 point car inspection list. Call it what you like! He just takes his flash light and goes checking around the car and sometimes measures a few things like Sp. gravity of radiator fluid and brake pad thickness, battery charge etc. Most of it is just visual inspection and hand palpation. But it costs money.
