Pretty sure my coilovers are the same way (KW V1). They're not even at all when it comes to actual threads on the coilovers, but even on the wheel gap. I really don't know what the problem is.
Just adjusted mine, keep in mind you have to screw in the strut in the rear in and out (lower/heighten) however you need to so the adjuster is slightly loose when on jack stands.
