1) most likely because there is no bend, from what i recall this is common with UUC shifter
2) not important, my 128i may is missing it too. Just sound insulation




You can do this make it a Weighted selector rod like Rouge Engineering shifter

To get DSSR like characteristics, do the following
Get twice the number of new nylon busings( the yellow washer):


Sand them down to fit snug
