The mechanical breakdown coverage must be started within 15 months of the original new car purchase date. I'll probably buy it after 12 months since I plan to keep the car for a long time. There's no reason to buy it too soon since you're covered by the BMW warrantee. Basically, you must have ~3 years of redundant coverage with the factory warrantee. The breakdown coverage must be continuous until the 7th year of the car. You canít stop and restart the coverage. Also, there is no guarantee that the price will not go up, although customer service promises it won't rise too much over the years - but who knows?!? If the price doesn't rise too much into the future, it sounds like a good deal.
