Quick update -
The original pads DO have a rubberised anti-squeal pad stuck to them, so i used some copper-slip on top in the hope of stopping squeak coming back at a later date. No squeaks so far though which is great. The pad swap was very simple, took 20 mins per side - pleased my 1st ever BMW DIY went so well

I used ATE pads from mister-auto (41.48 delivered). Out of interest the original BMW pads are stamped "BMW Textar T4191 FF", with ATE printed on them, i guess the calipers are made by ATE, and hence the Textar pads are ATE approved:
