Personally, I plan on changing my ATF with the OE BMW fluid. My prior E46 went 170K before meeting an untimely demise in an accident and would've kept on going. My local BMW specialist has always recommended changing it (well, as much as he can get out at a time) and uses the OE fluid. No problems with my old car and I plan on keeping my new one just as long....if you're leasing, don't bother.
