I wouldn't suggest coasting in neutral and then going back into 1st gear when you need power. If you're going really slow *actual stop & go* leave it in 1st gear and just depress clutch when you begin crawling to a stop. 2nd gear works fine, at speeds as slow as about 10kph (6mph).

You're revving the engine a little too much. If you're idling at 750rpm (dead stop), the tach shouldn't go over 1000rpm when you're smoothly engaging the clutch. Continue driving the way you are and I can almost guarantee premature clutch wear.
