It's a little hard to hear about the latest about underground groups because they don't get much airplay or even publicity relative to "pop" hip-hoppers. It's funny because I probably never would have known about Zion-I had it not been for my hip-hopper woman who likes to attend to these weird underground hip-hop events...where Zion-I coincidentally performed one night. The rappers can freestyle with ease - it's impressive.

Anybody got any more hip-hop recommendations like Zion-I, Deltron 3030, Feenom Circle, Slum Village, etc.? None of that pop hip-hop BS we hear on the radio 1,000X a day.

Best hip-hop out now is Little Brother - THe Minstrel Show. 9th Wonder is their producer (he did "Threats" on Jay-Z's last album). 9th is the reincarnation of DJ Premier. Also, I like MF Doom - check out albums like Madvillainy, DangerDoom & MMFood. It's definitely alternative hip hop, but still good.

BIG UP to all the underground hip-hop listeners out there!
