Yesterday my Quaife LSD was installed. This time we didn't install ourselves, we let professionals to do the job. Another reason - we didn't have our own car lift. But I was there and wached all the process closely .
Quaife LSD waiting to be installed:
Exhaust, heat shrouds had to be taken off and and driveshafts had to be unbolted from diff case in order to get access to the diff:
Differential case cover unbolted:
Stock differential housing was taken out:
First, differencial side bearing race was taken off:
It was quite difficult to unbolt the crown wheel:
All bolts unscrewed:
Then the crown wheel was bolted on Quaife LSD:
The "old" differential housing:
Quaife LSD:
Then differential case cover bolted:
After heat shrouds, exhaust and driveshafts were put back, ~1,2L LSD oil was poured into diff case.
Now the car puls forward much stronger as my 335i is 2wd not. Not 1wd as before
