MT Performance

Just tried a few fast shifts with the MT 6. Going into 2nd from either direction cannot be rushed. I have the M Sport short shift and its finger light and precise to move around the box but at the box's speed. While precise, the MT doesn't feel like a drag racing weapon. If you're interested in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, the AT may be the better choice as it upshifts very rapidly (ref. the 635d I drove) with very little interuption of drive and is probably easier to balance torque vs. traction, especially after remapping.

Re Turbo lag....above 1200 rpm the new 330d takes off as soon as you move your right foot. No hesitation; to the point that its better to pull out first then gas it when overtaking. My car is standard...no remap. This maybe to do with the way I drive. I roll the throttle rather than dumping it. Dump the throttle wide open and you loose velocity through the intake tract and any car will tend to bog. Roll it open to achieve maximum acceleration.
