Sounds like a software upgrade to me...
Hard drive, processor, microphone and steering wheel controls should be the same. Plus, they just came out with all of this new hardware for the all new iDrive, I doubt they made substastincial changes for this new feature.
Now, will the dealership be willing to upgrade your software for free? Doubt it...
