There must be powere supplied to some actuator that does teh actual engagement., Cut the power to that, and it should diable the FWD, without all the other issues (unless that due to diagnostics triggerering all the other stuff, like wipers). I doubt that would work.....you would need to disable EBD, at the least, as well.
