As for tune removal its the same as the N54 recommendation. If you are going in for oil service, etc. then you can leave it on but if you are going in for warranty work then its usually best to remove. The N55 stage1 tune is much easier to install/remove
so if you are worried its best to always remove and clear the codes, if any.
Hi Mike... I got my N55 135i in November, and as we head toward spring, Im contemplating your JB3 for my car... Can you please tell me how the N55 JB3 installation/removal is easier than the N54 version? I did not see a separate install proc on the web site for the N55.. thanks.
