I bought my car way back in June, so I didn't have much leverage, but they did take off 500 from MSRP. You can always try to get a few small things thrown in for free also. The dealerships are more willing to throw in free mudflaps and floormats etc. than subtracting from the purchase price. Also check what some dealerships have in inventory. Many people will put downpayments, and then decide later not to buy the car. However, the dealership is then screwed into accepting the car anyway, so if you search the lots for brand new cars, then you will almost certainly be able to get some money off of MSRP. Hope that helps. By the way, I bought my car in Waterloo.
