The best Canadian deal so far goes to the Alberta bros. on the board, who by ordering two cars through a broker got over $2700 in cash and prizes off each of their cars. If you are dealing with a sales associate, I doubt you will get the same amount off... but I encourage you to try! (I think they were able to get that price because the broker went directly to the sales manager, cutting out the salespersons commission.)
The one time I've spoken numbers, they offered $700 off MSRP. I politely said thanks and walked out the door. I know Canadian dealerships don't get the same volume or incentives as US dealerships, but I'm not going to buy a car at that low a discount... I got a better discount on my current car when there was still a year-long waiting list for it!
