I would like to disable the "door gong" on my 2008 e90. However, I have read from the BMW coding spreadsheet that by coding the KOMBI to disable the "door gong" might reset my e90's ecu and service dates. Now, I want to turn off that annoying gong, but don't want my ecu and service dates to reset.

Is it a sure thing that disabling the "door gong" will reset my car's service dates and ecu? What are your experiences?

Note: that the code for disabling the "door gong" is CC_ZUENDSCHLUESSEL (KOMBI)
