Reminds me of Mercedes. Initially they pushed the "lifetime" agenda. Some owners ignored this (like I did) and changed their trans fluid anyway. Then shortly thereafter Mercedes began recommending trans fluid and filter changes at 39K miles, possibly due to trans failures at 70K miles for some. There are a lot of variables that contribute to wear, but changing the fluid has to be the best thing you can do for your trans. Based on that oil analysis above, now there's scientific proof as well.
