Yeah, you need to watch out on that tax issue -- some dealers will charge it anyway, if not called on it. One place I got a quote from said it was taxable, and I had to show him the Board of Equalization page on extended warranty taxation before he would back off that statement. Some states DO tax extended warranties, but CA is not one of them.

BTW, if asked, BMW of SFO will take $200 off those prices Don't know if they will do it for out-of-area customers, though. I got a discount quote just by walking in and asking.
