1). Nah
2). Nah
3). It shouldn't. I didn't even unplug anything, all I did was pinch the vacuum line together and zip tie it. Works pretty much the same.
4). I kept it on the day I bought my car to the day I upgraded my exhaust.

Just do it and you'll be happy you did
