u need tool of some sort, Bavarian technic, or coding cable to do this. i guess sometime ecu might stuck at low grade fuel setting, it might help to bring back the performance but not increase it. Also it might smooth out the throttle and auto tranny.
just something to try without spending big buck if you know some friend has those tools.
