Doh! Got it.

Ok, I finally got it to release.

On my car the circular parts on the picture posted by Tx were actually bright stainless. Behind those, there was a white plastic part with another circular hole in it that feels like it is spring tensioned, but actually just flexible and snaps into place.

Anyway, the way to unlatch is ti take a strong flat headed screwdriver and place in along the little "L" shaped piece that sticks out. You can't tell from looking at it, but the metal circular part in the center is a wheel that spins around. Use the "L" piece to apply leverage and push it away from the "L" piece, towards the side of the car.

That was a pain in the but, but I guess with those anchors and two t-50 bolts in place, I'm pretty sure that the rear seat isn't going anywhere.
