RAW is great for when you want to, or need to have the ability to modify the way in which your shots were taken originally.
Did you not receive the
Canon Digital Photo Professional software with your camera?
Also, can you not shoot in JPEG & RAW simultaneously- I use both on my 450d just to compare shots?
