I love to hate my Black Sapphire. The clear coat is soft on the beamers and scratches easy. Very visable on a black car - but if you are meticulas, don't mind a once a week wash and your prepared to equip yourself with a shop full of microfibre cloths - then go for it cause it looks great!
My X5 and my wifes 318i (both Silver) did not show dust and dirt and the clear coat scratches remain almost invisable.
If you love detailing your car (I do but thats probably weird) - get black - otherwise take CaptOz suggestion and visit a main road dealer after rain to see what colours minimise the appearance of dirt.
