My old Blaupunkt MP41 does this. I named my files "##. track name.mp3", but used the id3 tags for artist, album, track number, track name, etc. The MP41 first displays the file name. Then it displays the track name and artist. These are shown on a scrolling display. The only tiime the track number is seen is in the file name.

I don't have iDrive, but the two line display on the Logik 7 is better for folder navigation than the single line on the MP41.

So, yes. The feature for reading ID3 tags in car audio systems does exist and has existed for several years. The question that remains is whether Logik 7 be adapted to use them.
