The two LMP cars are TOTALLY different, namely the latest TS030 being a hybrid first and foremost... This was a totally new engineering (in conjuction with LMP1 racing) ballgame for Toyota and their first year entering the 24 since the late 90's success behind BMW. Trust me, they will return in strength but like any other returning company it will take some years to perfect.

One of Toyota's TS030 Hybrid cars was taken out by a Ferrari early in the race (awesome crash) and the second was lost to engine failure after mid way in the race, but they by no means made fools of themselves.
