OP, there shouldn't be any long term effects but I can't say for sure.
Do you have an LCI? Some of those trunks don't have a key slot. So make sure you either put your seats down or have some other way of getting into the trunk after disconnecting the battery.

Sounds good. Thanks. I have a portable battery booster pack so I figure I can connect that to the terminal under my hood, providing enough juice to pop open the trunk.
