I fill up when the car bongs first time.
I get around 350 miles till it bongs to fuel, and I wish I had a bigger tank to make that 500 Miles.
I want to visit the petrol station as little as possible. Why would you fill up when you are 1/2???? That means you are filling up nearly twice as often as you need to!
Either way, it sounds like you have been drinking the cool aid about running your tank to empty and now out of paranoia only use half your range ....
