Not sure, but I've been thinking about this, Giz.. if you have the washer on the bottom instead of the top of the spring plate, it could effectively raise the spring plate (since the washer sits on a ledge, iirc). since the top of the spring is now higher up in the whole assembly, it is acting like a lowering perch.
That's exactly how the supreme power lowering perches work - they raise the top of the spring mounting point. So now I think you've accidentally figured out an alternate way to lower the front of our cars.
