Well mine is back. And it appears to be all fixed . The report notes that there was a broken t-piece connecting the vacuum hoses.
The service advisor said it may have happened during the last repair so no excess would be charged.
So I've had lots if bits replaced during my 4 visits to the dealer but it looks as though we're sorted and all for £100. Thanks warranty!
I did have a nice x3 3.0d to drive around too which I have to say was a nice bit of kit. I always thought they were a bit of a women's car but I'd me more than happy to own one!
