No this is not mini. When I check with apple website, it did say iPad 4th gen! I didn't dare to open it as it would considered as used then. I want new buyer would have peace in mind this is as new. Def not ipad mini. It's just a minor improvement no big deal. Just change the charger connector end to smaller one just like iPhone 5
