LOL, I think he means "The bolt and pins ARE NOT SUPOSED TO be detached from the wood trim"

I didn’t realize this until I had snapped one off, then realized it wouldn’t fit at all. It was Sunday though and the dealership wasn’t open, so since I had already chipped the ashtray cover I said screw it, and continued snapping off the wood trim pins. Then I spent a few hours grinding them all down to fit. The only issue I had with this method was I still needed to spend the $7 at the dealership for the pins to hold the dash trim on. If I remember correctly you need 24 pins for the 4 doors (E90) and 10 for the dash (they are different), just tell the parts department what you are doing and they will be able to look it up to be certain though.

I blame Bavdom for not including the parts or instructions
