If the car was a 56plate with 57k miles (10k per year) would everyone feel that a good buy? Personally I think a car with high miles in a short period has most likely been done gently on a motorway and not stop start traffic, b roads etc which wears components.
+1, I bought my '58 plate 335i in late 2010 with just under 60k on the clock and it was an absolute steal. Owned by a guy who was an MD of a big company, the car did the majority of its miles on the motorway and bar a few stone chips on the front it was in excellent condition inside and out.

To the OP, you've pointed out the main issue. Mine is at 80k now and would be difficult to shift if I wanted rid of it but I love mine anyway
