did you replace the plastic rim as well? because if the P-R-N-D is not there... im pretty sure you need that in order for DS to engage. dont quote me on the though.
My problem was the small clip I am talking about was disconnected when I installed the sun glass holder, and it wouldnt engage in DS. then when I went back and connected it, it worked completely fine.
Lemme know how it goes.

ohhh ok, i see what my problem may have been. No the P-R-N-D plastic piece isn't connected. I didn't wana take that part off in case i would break it. I just directly take off the whole auto boot and replace it with manual boot. I'll see if I can get that plastic piece off my auto boot and on my manual boot though. at least my steptronic manual still works.
