The JBD uses a 18F23K22 (8-bit) processor. Good luck tuning the D with resistors as it requires many non-linear functions. Tuning the diesel
isn't rocket science though and the overall function is much simpler than say the JB4 piggyback used to tune the N54 turbo motors. But the results speak for themselves and it's hard to beat the value. Diesels running full (and much more expensive) DME flashes which are verypopular in Europe are not running substantially faster than the JBD and in some cases slower.
