Legal in VA is 50% front side windows, and 35% rear and rear side windows. Many tint shops will go darker, but they won't give you a receipt (basically, it's under the table). I decided that I wanted to keep it legal. Besides, I think super dark tint looks a bit tacky... but that's just my humble opinion.
