Have you considered replacing the rubber guide rod bushings with solid brass bushings? Makes for a huge improvement in brake performance and pedal feel. And it's cheap as mods go.

yer they have had some pretty heavy breaking but I think they are cheap discs and pads made from a cheap material which I guess doesn't help.
No I didn't know about that mod, it sounds interesting though. Where can I get it?
